28/8/2008Write a letter about the closure of Baird Avenue Post Office before 1 September!
The Post Office in Baird Avenue, Kilwinning is one of 44 Post Office branches proposed for closure under the Ayrshire, Inverclyde, Lanarkshire and Renfrewshire Area Plan.
At the recent meeting about the closure at the Woodwynd Community Centre, Kilwinning Councillor John Ferguson said: "The cunsultation period ends on September 1, so it's vital to write in now or, for those who have already done so, to persuade a friend or neighbour to write in and add their opposition."
The six-week public consultation period began on 22 July 2008 and all representations should be received by 1 September 2008.
