Wullie Wolf ready to go!
The newly formed Woodwynd Wolves 19's have been invited to take part in a 500 team competition in Canton Detroit USA. Their hosts, Canton Celtic, have even helped with the costs supplying the hotel for all the players and coaches.
The Wolves have been fundraising for about a year and are just about there with the costs. Woodwynd Wolves are part of ACES Woodwynd project. Colin Young, Chairperson, said: ''The Wolves have three teams now, 8's, 9's and 19's. It's the 19's turn this year to go to Canton with the others teams getting a chance in the future, the players are all looking forward to the trip.''
The wolves are holding three fundraisers in the near future, all at the Woodwynd Community Centre. There will be two fundraising dances March 20th 7pm-late; April 17th 7pm-late; and Sally Buxton will visit during March (date to be confirmed.)
The team are looking for a sponsor for their new kits, bags etc if anyone would like to see their company's name in the news and USA, please get in touch. Anyone wishing tickets which are £3, please call 557706 (centre) or contact a player.
