Kilwinning Carnival: Segdoune Royal Party selected!

The Kilwinning Carnival Events in 2010 still look like a possibility with the Segdoune Royal Party selection meeting taking place on Sunday night to select the Segdoune Royal figurehead and Deputy.

There has been a delay in starting the arrangements as it looked highly likely all grant funding local groups for carnival events and the like was being suspended.

We will apply for funding this week from the local area committee and Woodgreen Mortification Trust and keep our fingers crossed.

The plans we are developing, proposals include participation in Park Live once again with the Segdoune Royal Crowning on the Saturday and the Segdoune Parklive Fun Run on the Sunday. The council's proposed dates are 29th and 30th May.

The Christmas Lights Switch-on has been pencilled in as 25th November.

The organisers of the events are Promoting Kilwinning and anyone interested in participating in any way is asked to email donhere@hotmail.co.uk be it charity stall, bands for the stage, sponsors or potential committee members/helpers.

The Corsehill Princess Charis Fenney has been selected Segdoune Queen elect, her Deputy is Zoe Neill of St Luke's joined with Abbey- Chloe Young, Blacklands- Emma Queen, Pennyburn- Rebekka Hillman, St Winning's- Shannon Muir and Whitehirst park- Saffron Gemmell making up the remainder of the Royal Party. Congratulations to them all!
