Just What Kilwinning has been waiting for: a meeting with the crime fighters

by Donald Reid
North Ayrshire Public Forum - 7pm on the 24th March 2010 - Volunteer Rooms, Irvine.

It provides all members of the public with the opportunity to come along and question the Police, Leader of the Council, Procurator Fiscal, Community Safety, Road Safety, CCTV Manager and Community Planning Partnership on a variety of issues that are important while also being updated to the good partnership work that is ongoing in North Ayrshire.

Given Kilwinning's recent spate of petty crime and vandalism in the Town Centre, Woodwynd and Eglinton Park, together with the reduced numbers of community officers and the big questions over the CCTV, there might well be some Kilwinning residents in attendance.

Grumpy Old Biker says

Yes, but will the police bother to attend!!! After all, we're only talking about petty crime & vandalism. They don't usually attend to that, do they?

Margaret McDougall says

The Meeting is open to the public, so you can ask which ever questions you wish. Superintendent Coubrugh will be there and he will answer your questions. Unfortunately I won't be able to attend.

I met with him yesterday and there are 6 community Police in Kilwinning.

As for the comment about the "big questions over the CCTV" what is that about? The cameras are fully operational.
