Good Neighbour Awards
The Council's Tenancy Participation Team are running the 'Good Neighbour Award' - for the third year running. The team wants to hear about two sets of people - young people in the 16-25 age group who go out of their way to make a difference in the community and anyone 26 or over.
You can put forward one person for each category. Only council tenants can nominate a good neighbour. Nominees can be tenants or residents.
There's no absolute definition of a 'good neighbour'. Good neighbours can do the shopping for an elderly neighbour, help maintain the community gardens, run the local youth group, help with DIY and a lot more besides.
Get a participation form by ringing 01294 471501. The deadline for entries is July 20.
You have to give the details of the person you are nominating, the reason for the nomination and your details. Please contact your nominee and seek their permission.
There's a winner and runner-up for each category. Winners will receive £150 in shopping vouchers, runners-up £100 in vouchers.
