Deliberate fires mean busy summer for Kilwinning fire crews

  • Fire crews in Kilwinning have been called out to a spate of deliberate fires over the summer

A summer outbreak of rubbish fires has kept Kilwinning's fire service busy over the summer months, with deliberate fires in the area increased from last year.

North Ayrshire Council's Kilwinning Area committee heard that deliberate fires, including four in Waterside Road, garages in Blacklands Crescent, and a total of four grass fires had seen the fire service called out.

The meeting also heard about the importance of free fire home safety visits - and local crews carried out 44 of these between June and August.
