The Corsehill gang 1940's
I was leading my GANG, all about7 years old through the Five Roads Woods- all aged about seven in1943,all dressed as cowboys or Indians. The Woods in those days were criss-crossed with many trails. I was in front as usual, because I was the "LEADER",when right THERE in front of me was a brand-new PISTOL,in a BRAND-NEW HOLSTER.,and FULLY-LOADED.! After a long pow-wow,it was decided that I should take it home to Montgomerie Terrace, where I hid it under the bed for two weeks.!!! I then swopped it for a stamp album.! The Woods in those days were used by thousands of soldiers stationed in Eglinton Park. Some poor soldier must have got a row for losing it.
