The Abbey Tower Heritage Centre Kilwinning

Opening Hours mid-May until mid-September

Friday, Saturday & Sunday 1pm - 3pm

Admission Free

On permanent display on the ground floor are short histories of The Abbey, The Tower, The Masonic Lodge and The Kilwinning Archers - all worth reading.

The Kilwinning connection with the poets Robert Burns and Robert Service is permanently highlighted and models of The Abbey, Eglinton Castle, The Robert Service Memorial and The Tower itself, recreated and constructed of matchsticks, are on display.

There are also numerous other items of interest to be seen in the Heritage Centre on the ground and first floors.

Access to the top of the Tower on a fine day with magnificent views of Arran and Ayrshire, will be at the discretion of the members of staff of Kilwinning & District Preservation Society on duty at the time.

During the closed season The Tower can be opened on request to both individuals and groups by simply contacting Jim Miller, Secretary, Kilwinning & District Preservation Society, Tel: 01294558352 or 07920086744.

Memories, Nostalgia & History

History doesn't have to be in black & white

Your memory of a local character or a school photo from the last ten years can be just as interesting as wars and Victorians.
