Laura Petersen says:

Does the WOODSIDE name sound familiar? I am looking for any Woodside relatives that may live in the area.

My great-great-great grandfather Robert Woodside was born in Kilwinning on July 4, 1802. He traveled to America and settled in Pennsylvania where he met and married a woman named Ann Elizabeth Graham

Robert and his descendants had the habit of using family names from generation to generation. For example: Robert, James, Miriam, Rebecca, Mary Jane, William, Elizabeth, Frank, Samuel, Frank, Albert, John, Jonah, Watson, Martin, Stewart, Peter and Lorens. The most prevelant are: Robert, John, William, Frank, Rebecca, Mary and Elizabeth

As my Robert's name and birthday and the Robert Woodside (born July 4, 1802) whose parents are Robert Woodside/Margaret Paton are the only match I have found, I am hoping that both Roberts are one in the same!!!!

great-great-great grandparents: Robert Woodside/Ann Elizabeth Graham

great-great grandparents: Robert Graham Woodside/Sarah McMullen

great-grandparents: Harry Stewart Woodside/Lavinia (Lovina) Lorense

grandparents: Axel Harold Woodside/Rosa Schwarz

parents: LeRoy Allen Woodside/Bonnie Jean Flint

ME! Laura Jean (Woodside) Petersen

I have included some photos of my great-great-great-grandfather and his family. Hopefully someone will see a family resemblance! (I apologise for the clarity of the photos, these photocopied photos are all I have!)

If you have any information on the Woodside family or can pass this on to any of the Woodside family living in Kilwinning, Dalry, and surrounding communities, I would sure appreciate it! I can be contacted at laurajean56@frontiernet.net OR laurajean56@hotmail.com

Thank you very much

Laura (Woodside) Petersen

Memories, Nostalgia & History

History doesn't have to be in black & white

Your memory of a local character or a school photo from the last ten years can be just as interesting as wars and Victorians.
