Ex Kilwinning resident

I used to live in Kilwinning (born 71 and left 1980) I lived in the Claremont Crescent area.Passed through in 2007 to let my then fiancee see where I came from and was shocked to see all the greenery up by the Ashgrove road all built on,Rooneys garage up Alexandra Terrace gone and I hear the Claremont hotel is now Taylors hotel?!! It'll always be the Claremont to me.Took My ex to see my first school,Abbey primary,,The new dinner hall I saw getting built to replace the old one which was demolished in 79 has itself been demolished! Price of progress I reckon!
