The Kilwinning Carnival and Segdoune Queen Crowning is scheduled for Tuesday 5th June and Christmas Lights on Thursday 22nd November 2012.

The Segdoune Royal Crowning will be held as part of Parklive on Saturday 29th May at Eglinton Country Park. This year's Segdoune Royal Charis Fenney will be crowned as part of the weekend celebrations at 1pm.
Saturday 29th May
Noon - Parklive opens and the Segdoune Royal Parade Leaves the Kilwinning Main Street to make its way to Eglinton Park lead by Irvine and District Pipe Band. All local groups and teams are invited to join the parade. Please contact Joe to participate 01294 552284.
1pm - Segdoune Royal Party Crowned.
Music and entertainment will continue all afternoon till 5.30pm.
Sunday 30th May
10am - Registration opens for Fun Run. You can run for your charity of choice or just for fun.
The Participation fees are £3 for Adults and £2 for juniors and groups.
All groups need to register the number of participants in advance to receive the discounted rate. Email donhere@hotmail.co.uk.
11am - Warm up for 2nd Annual Segdoune Parklive Fun Run suppurted by Kilwinning Sports Club.
11.30am - The 5km Fun Run gets under way.
Noon - Parklive gets underway as Saturday till 5.30pm.
The Weekends entertainment includes Big Vern 'n' the shooters, Vienna, Feeva, Abba Cadabra, The McDonald Brothers plus will feature the School Bands.
Bennetts Buses will operate a shuttle bus each day from Kilwinning to Parklive and back.

The process to select this years royal party is now underway with each of the schools nominating a primary 7 pupil, these nominations automatically join the SEGDOUNE ROYAL PARTY and will then be interviewsd as to the Royal Figurehesd and there deputy.
Due to ongoing uncertainty over council funding and a decline in financial support no decisions have been made as to this years public events other than to commit to support the Christmas Lights Switch on in November 2010.

Events in hand.
Segdoune Royal Parade and Crowning.
This is Saturday 30th May and leaves Main Street at Noon, all local groups invited to join parade, Parade will be led by Irvine and District Pipe band and feature Ayrshire All Star Cheerleaders.
The Crowning will be at 1pm and be a part of the Park Live event.
At 2.30pm another small parade to the Tournament Bridge where the bridge will be reopened to pedestrians at a 3pm ceremony, the ribbon cutting will be done by the newly crowned Segdoune Queen.
Segdoune Park Live Fun Run
Sunday 31st May
Open to all individuals to take part.
Entry £2 for children and groups, Adults £3
Registration in advance or on day from 10.30am
Warm up 11am with a start at 11.30am from the Event Field at Eglinton on a 5km Circular.
( any assistance or volunteers on the day welcomed)
All participants will receive a medal (and we are looking for things to go in goodie bags along with health walking leaflets)
Kilwinning Carnival is a Two day event on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th June at KA Campus at Kilwinning Academy.
We will have a craft fair, charity stalls, KA leisure activities, children’s services, bouncy castle, kiddies rides, TA and our open stage.
Tribute acts for Johnny Cash and Robbie Williams on the Saturday and Abba Mania on the Sunday. This together with a mix of local bands including Less than Sober and Crow Daddies. Any group interested in taking part in the Carnival is asked to contact Donald Reid ASAP on donhere@hotmail.co.uk

The Segdoune Parade will be Lead by the Irvine and District Pipe Band, plus We will have a bit of a flurry in the Parade with Ayrshire All Star Cheer Leaders taking up an invite to join the Parade.
An Open invite to all teams, groups, clubs and individuals to Join the parade.
Please just let us know so we can arrange the the required stewards in advance of the parade.

Time for the public to nominate! Who is to perform the 2009 Royal Crowning?
As you might already know the Segdoune Royal Parade will take place on Saturday 30th May leaving the Main Street at 12 noon. The parade will proceed to Park Live for the Segdoune Royal Crowning at 1pm. Park Live is being staged in Eglinton Country Park in the parish of Kilwinning.
Promoting Kilwinning has in recent years invited the community to nominate the Royal crowner or the personality who switches on the lights, with Mr Bill Despard and Mikey Hughes both featuring in the events in 2008.
If you would like to propose an individual for this year's crowning, please email donhere@hotmail.co.uk or by post to Mr Joe Broussard, Promoting Kilwinning, Eglinton House, Eglinton Park, Kilwinning, KA13 7QA with your nomination.
All groups, teams and the public at large are additionally warmly invited to join in the parade on Saturday 30th May.
Groups are asked to confirm attendance with Donald Reid in advance to ensure suffient stewarding cover for the parade.
