I am delighted to inform you that Pennyburn Regeneration Youth Development Enterprise in your North Ayrshire and Arran constituency have recently been successful in applying to Big Lottery Fund’s Investing in Communities for a £457,680 Growing Community Assets grant.

 

Pennyburn Regeneration Youth Development Enterprise’s “The Playz” project aims to create an aspiring community hub that will enable the community to develop new skills, obtain information and advice and interact across the generations. Funded by the Big Lottery Fund’s Growing Community Assets area of investment, the project will refurbish a disused public house and will provide a community cafe, training kitchen, social gathering venue, a diary room, a learning suite and a multimedia suite. The use of the space will be dynamic and has been designed to be multi-purpose to ensure it benefits the whole community.

The project will benefit 2,191 beneficiaries and 41 organisations from the Pennyburn area of Kilwinning in North Ayrshire over five years. This five year grant will fully fund one new full time Caretaker/Cleaner and part fund the capital costs of construction of the new facility.
