Little Seedlings
The Little Seedlings group meet at Cornerstone Church Hall, 2 Dalry Road, Kilwinning every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon between 1:30-2:30 pm. Over the past 3 years well over 100 children have attended the group.
Parents and carers can bring their children along and enjoy a time of respite whilst relaxing with a cup of tea or coffee in our community cafe project, "Oikos Coffee House". Our volunteers look after the children in the main hall below. Parents are required to stay within the building for the one hour session knowing their children are safe and are in clear view at any time.
Little Seedlings is run entirely by volunteers and the one hour session costs only £2. This includes a voucher for £1 towards a tea/coffee for the parent or carer. Each child gets a drink of juice, biscuit, raisins and a small chocolate treat for going home with.
The children have a structured play time, including games, action songs, story time, music, arts and crafts as well as their juice and snacks. Each child gets a graduation certificate when they are ready to leave Little Seedlings and go on to start school.
At Christmas and Easter a party is organised for the children where they get a snack and gift to go home and we organise special trips throughout the year for the parents and children
