Cornerstone Church @ The Bridge
Cornerstone Church, Kilwinning is celebrating its 20th Anniversary year "1998-2008" and has moved its Sunday services from 2 Dalry Road Kilwinning to new and much bigger premises at 1 Chalmers Place, Riverside Business Park, Irvine (service time 11am.)
The new venue in Irvine is called 'The Bridge'. The 12,500sqft venue has capacity for around 500 people in it's new auditorium and is being fitted with state of the art sound, lighting and media and fully equipped children's facilities, including creche, kids church and an area for nursing mothers complete with live videolink to the service.
The congregation numbers have increased rapidly over the years and the Church has now outgrown their current facilities at Dalry Road and Vaults Lane, Kilwinning. The Church plan to build a brand new Church/Community facility at the West Byrehill area of Kilwinning in the next 3 years and the move to Riverside will therefore be a temporary one.
Pastor Bernie McLaughlin said: "This is a monumental step for us as a church. It's a bridge between our first twenty years and where we go for generations to come. With the plans for a new building in West Byrehill, with capacity for two thousand people, we see this building as a stepping stone towards making this happen. We invite people from all over Ayrshire and beyond to come."
The Church building at 2 Dalry Road will continue to be used for the popular community groups which the church has set up over the years, including Youth Under Construction, Kidzone, Little Seedlings, Out & About and Oikos Coffee House.
